Further along before Exit 1 is the newly constructed welcome center. I-10 leaves Escambia County at the Escambia Bay Bridge as it crosses into Santa Rosa County.

There are currently rumblings about extending I-110 north of I-10 to US90-A and eventually all the way north to I-65 in Alabama between I-65 exits 57 and 69.

This new freeway, should it ever be built, would be known as the Escambia Expressway. This road would likely carry a toll.
